Hello my name is Samantha Fernandez, I am student at TYWLS Bronx, and we've been in self isolation since March 16 2020. It is now April 27 2020 and we have been in self isolation for over a month now. Now we are not going back to school for the rest of the academic school year, whic is at the end of June.
This takes some getting used to. On this website their will be ways to self care during self isolation and fun things to do at home!
What i've been doing in self isolation is getting all my work done then rewatching some of favorite tv shows and movies. for example last week i rewatched he maze runner mivies now im rewatching pretty little liars(which is going to take longer). This helps me a lot because they are my favorites and some them take a lot of time. Im a binge watcher so when i wtach tv shows and movies it kind of takes me out of my life and i focus on the lives in the tv shows. This takes my mind off of the things that make me have negative emotions. I recomend doing this when your finished with work or school because like it takes my mind off of negative things it also takes my mind of my resposibilities. So do your schol work fist then watch tv shows.
Writing can also be a good way of self care. In my expierence writing takes my mind off of things and i just like writing better than being on a computer. I ussually write abiut my feeling or i write fictional stories based on the genres of tv i watch. I recomend this because it really fun and it wouldnt take that much time out of the day.
This is helping you because it helps you to be able to still see your friends. You can facetime them when youneed help with some schoolwork/homework. You can also watch a show together on facetime . I recomend this becasue it like seeing them even though you cant go to school to see them.
